OSC co-founder wins Influential Women in Business Award
Open Study College’s Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, Samantha Rutter, has been recognised for her hard work, and honoured with an Influential Women in Business Award from Corporate Vision Magazine.
“To win an Influential Women in Business Award is personally very flattering. I’m still relatively young in terms of business and I am proud of what I have achieved so far.” – Samantha
With a wide range of issues facing women in business today, the business world can be a tough nut to crack. Samantha understands the importance of women in leadership roles, and how it positively impacts on the business. Her strong leadership, determination and enthusiasm for the industry, combined with her hands-on approach, has pushed the college to succeed.
“I am involved with all aspects of the business. I can be focusing on the next promotional campaigns and the next day I can be head down, blinkers on to review the latest course content or plans to roll out the next sector website” – Samantha
Over the last 10 years, we have managed to turn the distance learning industry’s reputation on it’s head. Starting in 2007 as a two-person family business, over 60,000 students enrolled with the college over the last ten years. The college offers over 450 high quality courses and industry recognised qualifications including A-Levels, CACHE and AAT.
“As an organisation whose customers are largely women in the 18-38 age range, it’s great to think we’re empowering women across the UK and also being recognised for our efforts” – Samantha
The college is constantly growing with a 40% year on year rise in student enrolments… and we aren’t stopping there! We are always looking for ways to increase and improve the ways students can study. New and innovative ways of learning contribute to the success of the college, with our development team working hard to stay ahead of the curve as technology evolves continuously.
“We have big plans for the future, so watch this space!” – Samantha
